A COMMENT FROM MICHAEL THRAVES:
This weekend we hosted the 5th ETAN Championship in Almussafes, Valencia Spain. I would like to thank everyone who helped create this event whether competing, refereeing, or helping out with paperwork and organisation. Firstly I would like to thank Eddy Wolput Shihan for giving me the opportunity to host this event; I would also like to thank the JAA and Inoue Sensei. All in all we had people from eight countries, Spain, Belgium, UK, Holland, Russia, Bulgaria, France and Japan.
I want to say a special thank you to members of my club Vicente and Anne for their administration and organisational help also Juan, Mario and Pepe for their help in organising mats, water, delivery, contact with outside vendors and sponsor’s in particular Mala Vida for their use of a company van, t-shirts and wine for the champions, also thank you to Almussafes town council for their help and assistance and use of the sports centre.
Thank you also to all of the students who helped in the more laborious tasks like laying out of the mats, tables, barriers etc., Referees from all countries, thank you so much for time out of your busy lives and expense to come to Spain and assist in this 5th European championship.
Lastly but certainly not least, thank you to all of the competitors, who of course without you the whole thing is impossible.
Thank you to everyone
